SERVICES

Different Paths to Holiness

At Temple Beth David, we believe that worship is a communal experience.  We recognize that every individual is unique and that there are many different paths by which we seek holiness.  We strive not only for variety in our Friday night services, but also inclusion: we provide different types of services so that everyone can find something to which they connect.  Maybe you are particularly moved by a joyful song, or a stimulating Torah discussion, or a silent meditation.  Whatever it is that moves you, come join us and be a part of the services you find most meaningful!

WEEKLY SHABBAT

Every Shabbat Service at TBD is a unique and inspiring experience.  Rabbi Ira leads all services. With the help of the Ritual Committee, Executive Director Cantor Mike Sirota, and your input, he crafts each service to be unique and special while integrating the traditional elements of a Friday Night Service.

Every Shabbat Service has unique characteristics based on one or several of the following:  The Weekly Torah Portion, Events on the Jewish or Secular Calendar, Holidays, Current Events, Musical Styles, Special Guests, and more.

Also, we have different Shabbat services for each Friday of each month (with the exception of holidays and special events):

First Friday:  Kinder Shabbat followed by Shabbat for All Ages with Gitai Vinshtok

Second Friday:  With Cantor Beth Wasserman Rosenfeld

Third Friday:  L'Dor VaDor (From Generation to Generation) Service with Religious School Participation

Fourth Friday:  Special Guests

(Occasional) Fifth Friday:  Special Event

Please see our calendar for more information and contact Rabbi Ira with your comments. thoughts, and ideas.

FAMILY SERVICE

Family Service are particularly for our families with kids.  Every school year, each Religious School class does a family dinner and service in which the students participate.  We also host family dinners for various holidays.  Look for our Kinder Shabbat, where we have a kids-friendly service!

ONEG

We follow every Shabbat Service with a beautiful Oneg, filled with delicious refreshments, good company, and reflection on the evening's service.

It is a time where we gather together to celebrate the joy of Life, Judaism, and Shabbat. If you would like to sponsor an Oneg, click here.
